Matt Cardona Reflects On Battle With Cancer In High School

Matt Cardona looks bac﷽k on his battle with cancer in high school.

When Cardona waܫs in high school, he🥃 was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. During his battle with the disease, it spread from his foot to his lungs, and Cardona was forced to miss a year of school.

While , Cardona discuss🗹ed the topic with RJ, noting he knew he had to beat it to become a pro wrestler.

"That was a tough time, but... This is going to sound cliche, but I knew that I had to beat that to become a pro wrestler."

RJ then asked Cardona why he doesn't bring up th🌳e fact he had cancer more.

"I never wanted to be so, I just didn't want to be like the cancer guy. I didn't want to do that. I'm not ashamed of it by any means. Right. But I didn't want to be like, oh, that's the cancer guy."

Cardona is currently scheduled to face off with Chris ☂Jericho 💫for the Ring Of Honor World Title at ROH Final Battle.
