π€ͺAonghus McAnally reflects on how he came to be the voice of Irish wrestling.
π°For much of the history of Over The Top Wrestling, Aonghus McAnally has served as the promotions lead commentator, as well as the hype man to open the companies shows throughout the years. However, his origins in the promotion started with taking a chance.
πWhile , Aonghus reflected on how he became the voice of Irish wrestling with OTT.
"I mean, in terms of the jump into commentating for OTT, the advice we got from the boys was don't ask for permission. So myself and Don Marnell, the great Don Marnell, holy God, what a commentator. We were pals, we were in the front row every week anyway. He comes from a radio and a standup background. I obviously come from a theater background and an awful lot of voiceover work, both in kind of animation and commercials and all that kind of stuff. So I'm comfortable in front of a mic. We were both storytellers and we have an intimate knowledge of the product. So we took two matches, took I think probably the Luther Ward, Pete Dunne title change and a session mock comedy match. We just ripped those, commentated on both of them and and said that jones said look no obligation, no pressure. But if you want this, this is what's on offer uh and they kind of jumped at it. And the rest, as they say, is nearly a decade of history."
